Juicing has become a pivotal part of my daily regiment. In particular, organic green juices. Cancer or not, juicing is a phenomenal way to pack in the nutrition, detox the liver and alkalize the body. They are like a nutritional infusion which can be absorbed almost instantaneously.
For the past few months I have been making my fresh juices every day, twice a day. They are simply part of my life now. In total I drink 1 liter of fresh organic green juice daily and I love it. My first juice is drunk in the morning before breakfast and the second in the late afternoon. Each juice is made up fresh for the best nutritional benefits. I feel incredibly clean and nourished every time I drink a freshly made green juice.
Whilst there are many greens you can juice, I have specifically chosen greens on the more mild side when it comes to taste. Dark leafy greens like kale can be incredibly potent when juiced and do not yield much liquid. Celery, cucumber and cos lettuce on the other hand taste incredibly pleasant, give you more bang for your buck when juiced and are powerhouses full of nutrition.
As I am currently following a nutritional ketogenic diet which eliminates all sugars (even the natural ones) the greens in this recipe are completely palatable without any added sweetness. You could always add an apple, however I personally don't feel it needs it.

Cleansing Green Juice
Makes approx 500ml (one large serve or two smaller serves)
3 celery stalks
1 lemon, skin removed
1/2 small cucumber
1/4 cup green Cabbage
1 small knob fresh ginger
3 cos lettuce leaves
*Sometimes I also add in a lime for extra punch
Chop produce (depending on what kind of juicer you have, you'll want to cut the veggies to a size that fits well in the feeder)
Process all ingredients through juicer.
Drink straight away for highest nutritional benefit
