Knowing you need to consume more greens is one thing, but actually getting enough into your day is often a whole other story. Not to worry! I've got you covered. With this green goddess smoothie eating your greens has never been easier or more delicious!
I feel incredibly nourished and clean when I incorporate vibrant fresh greens into my day, particularly when they are in the form of a delicious green smoothie. Fresh greens are one food group many of us are lacking in our diets and green smoothies are the perfect way to get them down!
Fresh greens are packed with super nutrients, fibre and alkalising minerals. Ginger is a great anti-inflammatory and lime adds a refreshing zesty flavour which is also wonderful for detoxing.
The one ingredient you don't want to leave out: Mr. avocado. This fruit creates magic.
The avocado is what totally makes this smoothie. Think smoooooth creamy & delicious. Plus it will keep you satiated for much longer. Avocado is a beautiful nourishing fat, the kind you want in your body.
When I make a green smoothie, this is usually my go-to recipe:
Ingredients
1 mango cheek (frozen)
1 cup baby spinach
Small piece of ginger
1/2 lime, skin removed
1 whole medium avocado
BIG handful fresh mint
1 cup water + ice
* If you find this recipe too 'green' the trick is to add more fruit. Add an extra mango cheek or even a small banana. I personally enjoy this recipe without much fruit but if you are not used to consuming greens your palate will appreciate adding in the sweet fruits.
Method
1. Throw all ingredients into a high-speed blender and whiz until smooth and creamy.
